Israel at 60 - A special section to celebrate Israel's 60th birthday
Israel will celebrate its 60th anniversary on May 8th 2008. The whole year of 2008 is dedicated for the celebration of a nation which is 60 years young and a land as old as human history. We created this special section with must-see videos and information.
July 2008 Special video presentation is by Israeli Shai Agassi, Founder and CEO of Better Place, who brings an innovative solution to rid our oil dependency.
In January 2008, Israel became the first nation in the world to declare a plan for oil independence by 2020. Partnering with Better Place and Renault-Nissan, Israel has committed to widespread deployment of an electric recharge grid to power electric vehicles by 2011. Renewable energy will be supplied through Israel’s growing solar power sector.
